Green Making Policies

Green Making provides local community for building green homes. Our goal is to connect people at the local and regional level who share an interest in developing, maintaining, and restoring a green built environment. This includes both structures and the outside environment around them.

It is our purpose to make this a safe, practical, and effective place for people to meet and work on their green building goals. In using our services, you must follow the policies we publish for that service. And generally, we ask you to follow these guidelines.

Respecting Others

We are committed to respecting our members. That includes keeping your information private and avoiding unnecessary intrusion in your live. Please view our Privacy and Data Retention Policy page for more information on the types of data we collect, how we use the data, our retention and disclosure policies, data security, your rights, and other pertinent information.

Green Making uses a demand pull model of communication. Where most services use an information push model, inundating you with advertisements for things you might possibly want sometime in the future, Green Making makes support available for you to find resources when you need them.

Please join us in treating others with respect. Green Making reserves the right to terminate access to anyone who places inappropriate content on our site or harrasses other members. New accounts are granted to those who request them subject to our determining the user physically resides in one of our service areas, currently the United States of America.

Respecting Our Site and Services

We make services available to you through our website and by other means. Please respect our policies for the website. Using our site does not give you any intellectual rights to the content you access. Those rights remain with the entity who provided the content (which may be us or a third party). If you want to use content in a way that is not considered fair use, including specifically for direct monetary gain, you must first obtain permission from the party providing the content. If you create an account with us, we may be able to access or disable your account. When you provide content, we may analyze that content to help us provide better services. We do not make this information available to third-parties, except if you access advertisements provided by third parties.

Green Making provides this website and our services to enhance the green building community. In return, we expect community members to authentically want to participate in the community in ways that improve the quality of our environment. Dishonesty and exploitation are specifically prohibited. Any entity that tries to take advantage of the community in any way inconsistent with our purpose will be excluded.

Warrantees and Disclaimers

We provide our services with reasonable business efforts. We do not make any promises about services, including fitness for purpose or accuracy. We don't make claims about reliability or availability. All services are provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law we exclude all warrantees.

Where permitted by law, we will not be responsible for lost profits, revenues, data, damage to assets. We will not be resonsible for financial losses or any indirect, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages. To the extent provided by law we will not be liable for any damages that exceed the amount paid for the user of our services. We will not be responsible for any damages that are not reasonably forseeable.

We may change these policies and terms from time to time. Notices of such changes will be posted to this page. Responsibility for understanding and abiding by these policies and terms rests with the user. We may provide additional terms for a given service. Such additional terms will control. Failure to enforce these terms does not constitute a waiver of our rights. The laws of the State of Oregon apply to all terms, and any claims must be filed in Washington County, OR.
